Volunteer Appreciation & Awards Dinner Photography: USO Las Vegas

USO Las Vegas contacted us to do their volunteer appreciation and awards dinner photography. USO Las Vegas is a local branch of the USO. They help our service members connect with their families at home when they deploy. The Las Vegas branch provides a sense of home away from home for the 32, 245 active duty troops, 4,760 National Guard, and their families located in Southern Nevada. They help troops and their families deal with deployment as well as those families that have lost their loved one in the military. This was to be an Awards Dinner to celebrate those that have made a difference for the USO Las Vegas branch.

The Volunteer Appreciation and Awards Dinner was held at Wayne Newton’s Casa de Shenandoah located at 310 East Sunset Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89120. This is Wayne Newton’s 52 acre ranch that has been opened to the public. It features natural artesian ponds and waterfalls as well as peacocks, swans and geese roaming the grounds. There is so much to see and experience at Casa de Shenandoah. The large dining area had plenty of room for attendees to feel comfortable as well as the military color guard.

Honoring those who serve the ones that serve our country

There was a Step and Repeat USO backdrop for many of the photos. It was a formal event with a wonderful dinner that was very good. Volunteers were honored for their hard work and dedication that night. Wayne Newton was on hand to take pictures with those award winners and other attendees. Everyone in attendance looked wonderful in their formal wear. It was nice to see the honor each of those military members feel for their country. No one could deny that they love and respect their country as well as all that the USO does for them. The USO helps our military members feel better when they leave their family behind while deployed.

It was great to be able to attend the USO Las Vegas Volunteer Appreciation and Awards Dinner party. It was humbling to meet the volunteers who dedicate their time to make sure our local service members and their families are taken care of. These people spend their days serving those that serve our country. There is no greater calling. Thank you so much for allowing me to attend and do your awards dinner photography.
